Campus celebration of George A. Jackson Black Cultural Center naming is May 20

On Saturday, May 20, the campus community will celebrate the naming of the Black Cultural Center for longtime former administrator George Jackson, who died last year. During his 31 years of service, Jackson was director of the Office of Minority Student Affairs, assistant vice president for Student Affairs and assistant dean of the Graduate College. Located at 517 Welch Ave., the George A. Jackson Black Cultural Center will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to noon for the celebration. A short program will begin at 10:30 a.m.
