Welcome Sarah Klahs to the College of Design
Sarah Klahs joined the College of Design March 1 as an administrative specialist in the Dean’s Office. She is the assistant to Cameron Campbell, associate dean for academic programs, and Mike Miller, director of operations, and serves as the college’s events coordinator and alumni coordinator. One of her first tasks is getting everything in order for Awards Day on April 14.
Klahs received a Bachelor of Science in communications and psychology from William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri, in 2012. She and her husband, Phil, moved to Ames in fall 2015 for him to pursue a PhD in ecology and evolutionary biology. They have “an adorable grey cat” named Peppermint. Klahs previously worked as an executive aide to the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, Tennessee, and most recently as a secretary II for New Student Programs at Iowa State.
She is the chapter relations and standards board adviser for the Delta Nu chapter of Alpha Chi Omega sorority at Iowa State and a volunteer event assistant for the Volunteer Center of Story County. She also occasionally volunteers at the Octagon Center for the Arts. In her free time, Klahs loves to craft and bake. Please help us welcome her to the College of Design!
