Fulbright Scholar Program Workshop for Faculty and Professionals
Faculty members, administrators and professionals are invited to attend a free workshop on the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program from 3 to 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, in the Memorial Union Cardinal Room. Topics covered in the workshop will include opportunities for teaching, research and flexible initiatives in more than 125 countries; tips on how to craft a competitive application, including how to make contacts abroad and choosing the right country and award for you; and ways to increase Iowa State’s international profile by hosting a Fulbright Visiting Scholar through the Outreach Learning Fund and Scholar-in-Residence Program.
Anyone with a potential interest in applying for a Fulbright should attend. Department chairs also may attend to get an overview of the program and to encourage their faculty to apply, especially if they know faculty in their department are considering FPDAs in other countries.
Individual faculty and professionals also can reserve a 30-minute slot to visit with the Fulbright Program representative between 12:30 and 2:45 p.m. and from 4:30 to 5 p.m. in the Cardinal Room, or join her for dinner the evening of Feb. 14. To reserve an individual meeting time, contact Megan Peterson by Tuesday, Feb. 7.
