Seventeen students in the spring 2017 ArtGR 271 sophomore graphic design studio, taught by graphic design Associate Professor Lisa Fontaine, each researched the topic of bullying, then wrote, designed and illustrated a children’s book to be donated to the library.

Thirteen books will be donated to the Ames Public Library, to be kept on the Parenting shelf to help children and parents who are dealing with bullying issues. And three students are donating their books to a library in their hometown, Fontaine said.

The project was a way to expose students to the contributions that graphic design can make to help society, she said.
