top-ranked programs
Iowa State University's undergraduate programs in architecture and landscape architecture are among the top 10 in the nation, according to the most recent survey of professional practitioners by DesignIntelligence.
DesignIntelligence is a bimonthly publication for leaders in design professions. The magazine's annual report, "America's Best Architecture and Design Schools," is the only national college ranking survey that focuses exclusively on design.
Architecture
For 2012, the ISU undergraduate architecture program ranked 9th nationally among 49 accredited undergraduate architecture programs in the U.S., and first in the Midwest. Our program has been ranked in the top 20 eight of the past nine years.
Landscape Architecture
For 2012, the ISU undergraduate landscape architecture
program ranked 10th among 47 accredited undergraduate programs in the U.S. Our
program has been ranked in the top 15 for each of the past five years, and
we're one of only a dozen schools to maintain that consistent national ranking. In 2010, the publication also listed Iowa State as one of "America's World-Class
Landscape Architecture Schools." (This designation is not awarded annually.)
