Undergraduate Minors

The College of Design offers or participates in undergraduate minors in Design Studies, Entrepreneurial Studies, Critical Studies in Design, and Digital Media. These are open to all undergraduate students at Iowa State University.

• The Design Studies minor facilitates design awareness and provides a vehicle for interdisciplinary study within the College of Design.
• The Entrepreneurial Studies minor is an interdisciplinary program that provides opportunities for students to learn about entrepreneurship — the process of creating value through recognizing and developing opportunities.
• The Critical Studies in Design minor offers students opportunities to engage the history, theory and criticism of visual and material culture and the built environment.
• The Digital Media minor familiarizes students with the use of digital media in the design process.

Minor Request Form
To declare a minor, you must submit a Request for Minor form to the Design Student Services Office, 297 Design, at least one semester prior to graduation.
