James Ian Killinger received the 2009 NICHE Award in the Mixed and Miscellaneous Media category for his robot, “808B1E.” Ben Ryan received the same award in 2007 for his cabinet titled “Monster Ship.”

Andrew Kopp won Best of Show for his “Concept Bench” in the International Woodworking Fair’s Design Emphasis ’08 student furniture design competition.

Christian Vandehaar earned Best of Show honors for his chalk pastel drawing, “St. Matthew and the Angel,” in the Fine Arts Exhibition at the 2008 Iowa State Fair.

Jared Porter won Best of Show for his gold, silver and copper jewelry in the Emerging Iowa Artists category at the 2008 Des Moines Arts Festival.
