Gallery 181

Galleries 181 and 181-1 are located on the first floor of the College of Design building on the west side of the Iowa State University campus. The galleries annually host a wide variety of shows by ISU design students and faculty, as well as traveling national and regional exhibitions.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday during the academic year and 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the summer unless otherwise noted. Closed weekends and university holidays except by special arrangement. Admission to exhibitions, receptions and other events is free.

The Rome @ Home exhibition features work by 58 ISU students majoring in integrated studio arts, graphic design, and interior design, who studied in Italy with the College of Design's Rome Program in summer and fall 2011.

Faculty included Alessandro Cece, Brenda Jones, Katherine Krizek, Jade Larson, Milena Locatelli, Liana Miuccio, Linda Nolan, Pia Schneider, Carol Taddeo, Cheri Ure, Paola Vecchio.

This exhibition features a mixed-media interactive installation, and a selection of thematic photographs submitted by undergraduate students in the College of Design. Approximately 50 entries by 15 students were accepted into this year's show, with about 20 students helping with installation design.
