The 8th International Conference on Interaction Design and Children,IDC 2009, June 3-5, 2009, Como, Italy. This paper is a case study on a graduate level course focused on the design of educational experiences for children with developmental disabilities. The course combines students from graphic design and human computer interaction into design teams focused on creating educational game experiences for children with autism, epilepsy, or cerebral palsy. The design methodology focuses on a unique combination of activity theory, Kansei engineering, and the symbiotic roles of emotion, cognition, motivation, and behavior. |
