Measuring Vulnerability and Resilience to Floods
Eric Tate is an assistant professor and director of graduate studies in geographical and sustainability sciences at the University of Iowa. He is a member of the water sustainability cluster at Iowa and a faculty affiliate with the Iowa Institute of Hydraulic Research – Hydroscience and Engineering and the Center for Global and Environmental Research. His research focuses on environmental hazards and society in three general areas: development of vulnerability, resilience and sustainability indicators; flood hazard mitigation; and uncertainty and sensitivity analysis for geospatial models.
Tate’s lecture is co-sponsored by the graduate programs in sustainable environments and urban design and the Department of Community and Regional Planning.
