2012 Admission Criteria

The seven enrollment-managed programs each utilize an individual formula for admission. Formulas are listed below in alphabetical order by program. (Please note that the BA program in Art and Design and Bachelor of Design both require completion of the Core but do not require submission of application materials. They are not enrollment-managed.)

Architecture
GPA in required Design Studies courses: 40%
(DSN S 102, DSN S131, and DSN S 183 only)
Portfolio: 30%
Essay: 15%
High school rating: 15%

Community and Regional Planning
Cumulative GPA: 70%
(All 30.0 credit hours from the Core will be calculated.)
Portfolio: 10%
Essay: 20%

Graphic Design
Core Design Program GPA: 60%
(Only the best 26 credit hours from the Core, but including DSN S 102, 131 and 183, will be calculated.)
Portfolio: 30%
Essay: 10%

Industrial Design
Core GPA: 40%
(Only the best 26 credit hours from the Core, but including DSN S 102, 131 and 183, will be calculated.)
Portfolio: 50%
Essay: 10%

Integrated Studio Arts
Core GPA: 50%
(Only the best 26 credit hours from the Core, but including DSN S 102, 131and 183, will be calculated.)
Portfolio: 40%
Essay: 10%

Interior Design
Core GPA: 45%
(Only the best 26 credit hours from the Core, but including DSN S 102, 131 and 183, will be calculated.)
Portfolio: 40%

Landscape Architecture
Core GPA: 60%
