	Visiting Iowa State University and the College of Design
	Ames, Iowa, the home of Iowa State University, is located 35 miles north of Des Moines, 380 miles west of Chicago, 225 miles south of the Twin Cities, and 160 miles east of Omaha. Ames Map ISU Campus Map Traveling by car to the College of Design Most visitors to ISU and Ames arrive via Interstate 35. From I 35, take the exit labeled Iowa State University/Highway 30. Drive west on Highway 30 to the third Ames exit labeled Elwood Drive/ISU. From there, proceed north on Elwood Drive past the following landmarks on your left: Reiman Gardens, Jack Trice Stadium and the Iowa State Center. At Lincoln Way, turn left or west and follow through the campus town area past the intersection of Welsh and Lincoln Way. Turn right at Sheldon Avenue and proceed north to the College of Design. You will easily identify the Architecture of the building by the glass, arched roofline. Traveling by plane to Ames If you travel by plane, you will probably fly into the Des Moines International Airport , which is served by several commercial airlines including American, Northwest, TWA, and United. Private planes may fly into the Ames Municipal Airport. Car rental and taxi service are available at either airport.
	Parking Information
	When you arrive at the College of Design, you will need to park in temporary parking spaces near the design building while you unload your display materials. Students will be available to assist you. Proceed into the design building to the Registration Table to pick up your parking permit and your registration packet. You will then need to move your vehicle to one of several designated parking areas and walk back to the College of Design. A map will be included in your confirmation packet. The walk could be from 5-10 minutes so bring your walking shoes.
