30th Anniversary

ISU Solar Decathlon Reception
Nov 13, 2009 5:00 pm-6:00 pm
Lightfoot Forum, College of Design

Join us for a reception in honor of the ISU Solar Decathlon Team beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, in the Lightfoot Forum outside the department of architecture office in the College of Design. Team members recently returned from Washington, D.C., where they placed 12th in the U.S. Department of Energy's Solar Decathlon with their solar-powered Interlock House. More than 100 students, 17 faculty and several staff members worked nearly 18 months to design and build the house. In 10 judged contests, the house ranked 3rd in market viability, 4th in communications, 5th in engineering and 6th in net metering.

Brief remarks will be presented by Elizabeth Hoffman, provost and executive vice president; Luis Rico-Gutierrez, dean of design; Jonathan Wickert, dean of engineering; Ulrike Passe, assistant professor of architecture and ISU Solar Decathlon faculty lead, and Eric Berkson, senior in architecture and ISU Solar Decathlon team member.

Please join us in congratulating the students, faculty and staff for their hard work and competition success. Punch and cookies will be served.
