Our curriculum
Students attending Iowa State University to study Biological/Pre-Medical Illustration enroll as pre-BPMI majors through the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Students must apply for admission as full members of the BPMI program, typically in their second year of study. Applications include submission of a portfolio and essay and are reviewed by the BPMI Advisory Board once each semester. BPMI majors do not need to complete the Core Design Program in the College of Design.
There are three components to a Bachelor of Arts in BPMI: a general education component, a science component consisting of core and advanced courses, and an art component also consisting of core and advanced courses. Read more about the classes and credits needed for the BPMI major
