Spring Graduation Convocation
The College of Design's spring graduation convocation will take place from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 10. The event begins with a reception for graduating students and their families in the Lyle E. Lightfoot Forum, followed by a recognition ceremony at 10 a.m. More information
Alumni Days will be May 15-17, 2008. In addition to the campuswide activities celebrating the Class of 1958, the College of Design will host a reception for all design alumni (regardless of when you graduated) at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, May 15, in the Pioneer Room of the Memorial Union. All alums are also welcome at an open house in the College of Design from 9:45 to 11:45 a.m. Friday, May 16.
In an effort to communicate better with our alumni, in December 2007 we began sending a monthly electronic newsletter to about 5,000 design alums for whom we have valid e-mail addresses. Called Designotes, this message is sent in both HTML and text-only versions on the second Thursday afternoon of each month. If you have not been receiving this e-newsletter and would like to be added to the list, please let us know! Fill out the alumni feedback form at the Share Your News link at left, or e-mail isucod@iastate.edu and indicate that you would like us to send you the Designotes monthly e-newsletter.
We will also publish a four- to eight-page print version of Designotes three times per year (spring, summer, fall). This hard-copy newsletter will contain important highlights from the monthly e-news as well as new information and photos, and will be mailed (US Postal Service) to all College of Design alumni. The first issue (Spring 2008) began arriving in mailboxes the first week of March and is available for download here (.pdf). Let us know what you think!

Design
Career Services recently joined other campus career services offices in
using ISU CMS (Iowa State University Career Management Service) for
posting internships, entry-level and professional positions. This
password-protected online system has many features that will benefit
students, alumni and employers. College of Design alumni can access
employment opportunities through ISU CMS by completing the registration form.
Alumni can assist current students and fellow alums by encouraging
their employers to include the College of Design in recruiting
activities such as Career Days, on-campus interviews and employment
postings.
