The Advancement Council serves in an advisory capacity to the dean of the College of Design and has the following functions:
- Serves as the board of directors of the Challenge Society.
- Helps the college realize the goals of its development campaigns.
- Serves as an ambassador of the college to alumni, friends and
corporations to advance external relations and the college's
visibility.
- Enriches design education by interacting with students, faculty and academic support professionals.
- Provides perspectives on the college's priorities, key initiatives and strategies, emerging issues, trends and challenges.
Each member has volunteered his/her time and resources to serve a
three-year term on the council. The group now has 14 members; it will
grow to 18-24 members with staggered three-year terms.
