KIP Information
Black and white wide-format (36") device
Windows Instructions:
- Download the appropriate driver from below
- Save to a place on your hard drive (desktop is good)
- double click on file to extract and install files
Windows VISTA
- Download 32Bit Vista or 64Bit Vista
- Uncompress the files to your hard drive
- Go to Start/Settings/Printers and add a new printer
- Choose a local printer (even though it's networked)
- Choose Create a New Port then choose Standard TCP/IP port
- In the Hostname field type tlab7.design.iastate.edu (the port field will also fill in automatically)
- Click Next
- Now you'll get a screen that says "Additional Port Information Required" Click on Custom then Settings
- In the Protocol section, change from Raw to LPR
- In the LPR settings section, type KIP2002 in the Queue Name field
- Click the LPT Byte Counting Enabled box
- Click OK
- Click Next
- Click on Have Disk
- Change the location to the place where you installed the printer drivers in step 2
- Click on plotter.inf and click open
- Now choose KIP 2000 Series in the Install Printer Driver window (may have to click Next)
- Then give the printer a name and click next
- That should do it!
This will install the right port on your computer and then install the printer driver. Now you can use this to print to the Lab Printers.
