QuarkXpress Tutorial #0006: Setting up Print Styles

In order to save time when printing, you can setup Print Styles for the common printers that you use.

To set up a Print Style:

1. Go to the EDIT menu and select Print Styles.

2. Click the New button.

3. Give your print style a name. For example: B&W Lab Printer, or Color Lab Printer.

4. Click the Setup tab and select the correct printer description:

a. For the Black and White printer: HP LaserJet 8000 series
b. For the Color printer: Canon iR C3200-C1 PS Ver1.0

This will give you all of your paper size options.

5. Select the paper size you’d like to be the default.

6. Click the Output tab and change the Halftoning item to “Printer”.

7. Click the Options tab and change the Data item to “Clean 8-bit”.

8. Click the OK button to close the dialog box.

9. Click the Save button.

If you need to setup more print styles, repeat as necessary.

To Select a Print Style in the Print Dialog

1. Go to the FILE menu and select PRINT.

2. Select your print style from the Print Style pull-down menu.

3. Change your paper size and other options as necessary.

4. Click the Page Setup button at the lower left corner. Select the printer you want to use:

a. Black and white: Doc_Printer_2
b. Color: Doc_Color_Printer

5. Click the Printer button and make sure that the correct printer is selected (same options as above).

6. Click the Print button to print.
