0009 - How to print to the KIP printer (Windows Only)

If you need a custom page size, please use the following procedure before you launch
the application you plan to use to print. If you can use one of the preset paper sizes, skip to step 7. Some applications have built-in length limits, so you may need to experiment to find out what works. Photoshop cannot print longer than 80 inches. Some applications have much lower limits. The maximum width is 36 inches.

1. Go to your Printers and Faxes folder (Start > Settings > Printer and Faxes).

2. From the FILE menu, choose "Server Properties".

3. Click the "Create a new form" checkbox.

4. Give the form a descriptive name, such as 36x72.

5. Change the width and height fields to the correct dimensions in inches (for example, 36.00in, and 72.00in).

6. Click the "Save Form" button, and click OK to dismiss the dialog.

7. In the application, go to the Print menu. (The instructions are generalized, and may differ between applications.)

8. Select the DOC KIP Printer from the list of printers.

9. Click the Properties button, and click the "Advanced" button to access paper sizes. Select the paper size needed. If you set a custom paper size, you will need to select it from the list. There are a lot of choices, so look carefully. Your paper size should be there. Click "OK" on each dialog until you are back at the print dialog. If there is a preview available, check that your entire image is visible.

10. Click the Print button.

11. Go to room 426, fill out a KIP form with your username, the filename and dimensions. You will need to use your ISU card, with Cy-Cash to pay for the print. It costs $2.00 a linear foot to print to the KIP.
