0004 - Printing from Adobe Reader 6

Creating a PDF of a file and printing it from Adobe Reader is one way to make a troublesome file behave and print like it is supposed to. Printing from Reader is just like printing from any other application.

1. Go to the FILE menu and choose "Page Setup".

2. In page setup, make sure that you have selected the correct printer. In MacOS X, choose the printer from the "Format for:" pull-down menu. Click OK.

3. Go to the FILE menu and choose PRINT.

4. Make sure that you have selected the correct printer from the Printer menu (this should be the same as the printer you selected in the Page Setup dialog).

5. If you printing to the Epson Wide Printer or the DOC Color Printer, you can leave the number of copies set to 1. We will set the number of copies when we send your job.

6. Make sure that your document appears correctly in the preview window.

7. Click the Print button to print your job.

Note: When I tested this, the "Advanced..." button on the Print Dialog did not work. In fact, click that button actually caused the program to crash under MacOS X. I have filed a bug report about this with Apple and Adobe. In the mean time, do not click the "Advanced..." button.
