AdobePS Error and Solution for MacOS 9

Every once in awhile, when trying to print using the AdobePS extension in InDesign, you may get and error message about being unable to open the specified PPD (Printer Description file) for the printer. Here is the solution.

1. Open the Chooser (Apple Menu > Chooser).

2. Select the LaserWriter 8 extension in the upper left panel. Double-click the printer name in the right panel (HP LaserJet 8000 Series) to set it up. Click the Auto Setup Button. Click OK to accept the settings (there will be two dialogs to click through).

3. Select the AdobePS extension in the upper left panel. Double-click the printer name, and select Auto Setup. Again, there will be twodialogs to click through.

4. Close out of the Chooser.

5. Print as normal.

This should not happen often, and following this process should fix it. If you need help, let me know.
