Robert Dyas Scholarship - $500 scholarship awarded to a top applicant to the professional program with evidence of high academic accomplishments and potential for leadership in Landscape Architecture. Renewable upon maintenance of normal progress in the program and a minimum 2.75 GPA and 3.0 LA GPA. Faculty selects from list of eligible students.
Federated Garden Clubs of Iowa Landscape Design Scholarship - $200 awarded to a Landscape Architecture student based on academic excellence and demonstrated financial need. Minimum 3.00 GPA. Not renewable. Faculty selects from list of eligible students.
Federated Garden Clubs of Iowa Scholarship - $500 awarded to a 3rd year Landscape Architecture student, who is an Iowa resident. Must be enrolled in LA 322 or similar class to show demonstrated excellence in plant materials and planting design. Demonstrated financial need. Minimum 3.0 GPA. Not renewable. Faculty selects from list of eligible students.
Barbara King Scholarship - Up to eight $2,500 scholarships awarded annually. Awarded to 4th year, 5th year, or graduate students enrolled in the Landscape Architecture curriculum at Iowa State University. Preference for undergraduates, women and demonstrated financial need. No student may qualify for more than one BKLA Scholarship during undergraduate or graduate study at ISU. (A BLA/MLA student may qualify for one scholarship in each program.) Social or ecological advocacy focus. Minimum 2.5 GPA and 2.75 LA GPA. Contact Heidi Hohmann for more information.
Arthur R. & Clare M. Merkle Endowment for Excellence in Landscape Architecture - A
$1000 scholarship awarded to a worthy Landscape Architecture student without regard to class standing and who has a curricular focus in urban design. It is renewable at the discretion of the department chair. Faculty selects from a list of students. National Garden Club Scholarship - Thirty-five $4000 scholarships are given each year. Pryor Scholarship - $1000 scholarship awarded to a Landscape Architecture student who shows leadership ability. Participation in SSLA and minimum 3.0 LA GPA required. Demonstrated financial need. Renewable at the discretion of the department chair. Faculty selects from list of eligible students.
Marvin R. Springer Scholarship - $1,000 scholarship awarded to a student entering the Department of Landscape Architecture. The award is renewable each year in the program, up to a total award of $4000, if a minimum 2.75 GPA is maintained and the student stays in the program. Demonstrated financial need. The student must submit a College of Design application, a 300 word written statement, and three letters of recommendation. Note: Springer scholars are not eligible for the Dyas Scholarship.
Ada Swalwell Scholarship - A $200 scholarship awarded to a top 4th year Landscape Architecture student with a minimum 3.0 GPA. It is not renewable. Faculty selects the recipient from a list of eligible students. Murray B. Weir Scholarship - $1,000 scholarship awarded to a Landscape Architecture student who has demonstrated financial need, high academic achievement and shows professional potential. Not renewable. Faculty selects from list of eligible students.
Additional Collegiate scholarships and/or University scholarships may be available.
