College
of Design faculty consistently publish and exhibit their work nationally
and internationally. They include respected designers and fine artists
with expertise in such areas as community economic development; conservation of cultural, historical and natural environments;
design theory and history; digital media; environmental design; fine
art; geographic information systems; land-use and transportation
planning; universal design; and urban design.
External research
funding in the College of Design has averaged $2.5 million over the past few years.
The Institute for
Design Research and Outreach facilitates faculty research
and outreach efforts.
