The College of Design comprises four departments:

• Architecture
• Art and Design
• Community and Regional Planning
• Landscape Architecture

The Art and Design department is home to the following programs: 

• Art and Design
• Graphic Design
• Integrated Studio Arts (undergraduate only)
• Integrated Visual Arts (graduate only)
• Interior Design
  

The college partners with other academic units at Iowa State University to offer programs in:

• Biological / Pre-medical Illustration (BPMI) (undergraduate)
• Geographic Information Systems (GIS) (graduate) 

All incoming undergraduate students complete the Core Design Program to advance into professional degree programs.
