An individual applying to the graduate program of the Department of Art and Design must meet the following requirements in addition to the minimum general requirements of Graduate College of Iowa State University.

1. In a formal letter of application, please discuss your personal objectives for wanting to pursue an MA degree and your professional goals.

2. If you have previous experience or degrees in a relevant art, design, or advertising field, please provide an electronic portfolio of original work by the applicant, or slides of the applicant's work.

3. Undergraduate transcripts.

4. Three letters of recommendation

5. A current Resume

6. University graduate application

Send portfolio/slides, your formal letter of application, a current resume and letters of recommendation to the Graduate Coordinator, Department of Art and Design, 158 College of Design, Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa 50011-3092.
