Research Interests

Multidisciplinary beginning design education; monuments and memorials; self-built housing and conditions of habitation in Roma camps in Italy

Current Projects
Core Director for the College of Design, overseeing the first year courses; Coordinator for Design Studies 102, the first-year three-dimensional studio; organizer and teacher of the Core Mentor Program, in which upper-level students mentor first-year students. I am currently writing, with Isabella Clough Marinaro, an article on Roma camps for the Do-It-Yourself Urbanism issue of The Journalism of Urbanism. I am also, with Francesco Mancini and Mark Engelbrecht,  planning the Rome semester which we will lead in Spring 2013.
