Employers can use ISU CMS, ISU Career Management Service, to post internships and full-time employment opportunities for current students, recent graduates, and experienced alumni. The service is free, however, registration is required.
Register with ISU CMS
- Go to the ISU CMS Web site.
- Click on the 'Register' tab at the top of the page.
- Register using your business e-mail address.
- Complete the form and click on "submit".
- You will then be e-mailed your login information along with a service activation form and confidentiality statement.
- Return completed "Confidentiality Information form" to be able to access services.
- ISU CMS will activate your requested services which could take a few minutes to an hour.
ISU CMS also allows employers to manage company profiles (strongly recommended), access resumes for posted positions, and schedule on-campus interviews.
ISU CMS is a centralized job posting service that provides all qualified ISU students equal access to employment opportunities. Asking faculty to refer specific students for internships or other employment opportunities without posting them on ISU CMS, may imply that unfair recruiting practices are being used by an employer. After a position has been officially listed through ISU CMS faculty and staff may then alert students about employment opportunities.
Resume and Portfolio Size
Since ISU CMS limits resume file size to 300 KB, students are advised to reduce the resolution quality of documents for uploading to the system which reduces the print quality of the document. If you plan to print resumes, you could request that students attach a PDF version.
Rather than requesting a "Portfolio" as an additional document, we recommend that you give students specific instructions that limit document and file size. Example: Please attach a PDF file that includes your resume, references, and samples from your portfolio; the document should be one PDF file with no more than 4 pages and a total file size no larger than 10 mg.
