Regarding Internships
Gaining practical work experience in your field while a student, combined with a solid academic preparation, is the key for successful career development.  Internships are highly regarded by employers and give students the advantgage necessary to compete for entry level positions. Often graduates having internship experience in their fields will be offered higher salaries for entry level full time employment. If an interior design student, contact Cigdem Akkurt or Margo Hutcheson for a list of firms where students have previously interned. Many additional resources are available to facilitate the internship search process. 
 
The Internship/Job Search Process
The process for developing an internship search or a full-time employment search are basically the same.
Step 1: Establishing goals for your search.
Step 2: Targeting possible geographical locations to focus the search
Step 3: Developing a plan or strategy 
Step 4: Preparing items needed to conduct a professional employment search. 
Step 5: Researching possible employers
