Marwan Ghandour
Associate Professor, Architecture

Marwan Ghandour's capacity to build bridges between the academy and the real world, between disciplines, and between people is manifest in his everyday dealings with colleagues and students. He created a forum for showcasing design faculty research in the well-attended "This Friday" series, and his participation on the board of the Center for Excellence in the Arts and Humanities resulted in an important symposium that involved a wide range of disciplines on campus. He frequently serves as a guest speaker in other courses and collaborates with junior faculty to help mentor their developing research efforts.

Marwan's teaching style is at times unconventional but always innovative and effective. His ability to inspire and challenge students in studio and seminar are legendary, and he demonstrates a respect for diverse opinions and approaches that many of us would do well to emulate. Marwan has served as a Faculty Senator, the associate chair for research and most recently as director of graduate education for the architecture department.
